An overlooked Guercino looked over: the place of St.Augustine in the artist's oeuvre.

'Argues that a painting of S.Augustine with SS.Monica and Agnes in S.Pietro in Vincoli, Rome, should be returned to Guercino's oeuvre. The ascription to Guercino goes back to at least 1674, and was unbroken until 1986 when P.Bagni published his volume on artists who worked with Guercino. Bagni then suggested the picture was by Zallone' (BHA).
