'This dissertation shows that the response of fifteenth-century readers to Sir Thomas Malory's "Tale of the Sankgrael" is likely to have been informed by their knowledge of the generic features of saints' lives, particularly the vernacular saints' lives writen by three noted 15th century English hagiographers: Lydgate, Bokenham and Capgrave.'
