'On the sculpture Pietà (Soverato Superiore, Chiesa arcipretale, 1521) by Antonello Gagini. The work was commissioned by Giovanni Martino d'Aquino for the Augustinian monastery Santa Maria della Pietà (Calabria region), and was restored, 1968. Analyzes the iconography (S. Thomas Acquinas teaching) of the relief sculpture on the base of the group. Also describes the other works of art (16th-18th cs.) from the monastery (abandoned, 1803). Includes a transcription of the life of Gagini from Francesco Susinno's Vita dei pittori messinesi, and an appendix of documents, 1520-1792' (BHA).
