'Now in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna... Our earliest record of the altarpiece comes from Francesco Sansovino, who saw the work in S. Stefano, the Venetian church of the Augustinian Hermits, in 1581. The polyptic, signed by Vivarini and Giovanni d'Allemagna, carried the date 1441'.
