'Examines the oeuvre of the sculptor Nanni di Bartolo, in the light of the recent 1986-1989 restoration of his scupltural decoration [commissioned (1432) by the military leader Nicolò Mauruzi, completed under the patronage of his brother, Battista, in 1435] of the main portal of the church of S. Nicola da Tolentino, Tolentino. Includes essays by Luciano Bellosi on Nanni's Madonna sculptures; Brunella Teodori on the conservation of the portal; and Giorgio Semmoloni, transcribing the will (1434) of Nicolò Mauruzi' (BHA).
