"Proposes that Perino's 1534 altarpiece representing the Adoration of the Infant Iesus (National Gallery of Art, Washington) painted for the Baciadonne Chapel in the original church of S. Maria della Consolazione, Genoa, was created to celebrate the newly attained noble status of the B. family. Proposes that the altarpiece was the central devotional immage in what was the family mortuary chapel; and suggests that Perino's fresco of the Lamentation (present church of S. Maria della Consolazione, Genoa) may have been part of the Baciadonne Chapel decorative cycle with the Adoration of the Infant Iesus hanging over it" (RILA).
