In search of Andrea del Sarto's Head of an angel.

"On the basis of a drawing by Andrea del Sarto of a Head of an angel in the Uffizi, Florence, argues that Andrea's (lost) painting of the Pietà, and not the engraving after it by Agostino Veneziano, was the inspiration for the alabaster group by Conrad Meit in the church of Brou, Bourg-en-Bresse" (BHA).
